I lost my 7 iron and now I am trying to buy one back. I could use some help locating where! It would be preferable with a 5.5 Project X shaft. Thank you!

Hi there Mandy, good to see you, thanks for asking the nineteenth hole. I would check eBay definitely. I would also look at your local golf shops. Most have a bag that has single odd priced irons that have been found or handed in. If you find it there, odds are you would get it for next to nothing!

There seems to be a lot of interest in Callaway golf equipment these days, particularly in golf bags, which is understandable I guess given their quality. Below are some more questions relating to this popular topic with readers.

I just bought the Callaway Golf Bag which has this “woode” club organizer but I can not find the details or pictures that how the clubs are placed in the various pockets of the bag for golf clubs.

I tried to find which bag you were referring to on the Callaway site and couldn’t find it. You could just place the clubs in the order in which suits you best.
Perhaps you could try contacting the customer service department at Callaway for an answer. READ MORE »

With me living in Wisconsin, winter is here for 6 or 7 months of the year which really sucks. I just picked up the game last summer but have caught on quick and broke 90 not too long ago. I want to keep my game sharp and maybe actually even see if I can improve on some things if that’s possible. Any tips or helpful drills that I could work on?
I live in a house where I can’t swing a club full or it will hit the ceiling. I’m guessing my basement is where I can work on putting or chipping or some sort of golf motion that I can commit to muscle memory. But what would be effective? How can I work on my putting and make the ball roll like almost a real green? Any good ways to practice chipping and making it feel and roll like the real thing? Thanks a lot!

All you need is a short series of lessons on the basics of the golf swing from a good golf pro. And then practice earnestly and play with friends until you feel happy with your game. READ MORE »

I’m looking at a new driver (TaylorMade R7) with a shaft as follows: MITSUBISHI RAYON DIAMANA 83 GRAPHITE SHAFT – R Flex
I’m about 90 swing speed and hit my current driver about 220 yards in the air (not including roll). I know that Diamana makes a great shaft. I have no problem with a lower launch shaft but my concern is that the 83g shaft seems to be more of a fairway wood or hybrid shaft. TaylorMade standard for a driver with Diamana would be 63 Gr. How will the heavier shaft flex affect feel, ball flight, etc? It’s a good price but is it because of an odd club / shaft marriage that won’t work for most golfers?
I appreciate any helpful input. Thanks! READ MORE »

I want to buy a set of golf clubs for my niece, but I don’t know much about it. Can you help me? By the way, I love this site The Nineteenth Hole, it’s cool!

Certainly, apart from the size of the clubs, pay attention to the grips too. Kids have smaller hands than that of adults so it would be advisable to have a core of 0.50. This can give your niece a tight grip of the club since it is just right for their hands. It can also be a determining factor for a perfect swing. You can choose Callaway’s golf clubs sets, they’ve designed some nice kids golf clubs. Thanks for the feedback too, I appreciate it. READ MORE »
Here are a few questions about golf driver tips asked by some of you previously. The driver is one golf club that most beginners have some difficulty with choosing what is right for them. The size and type of the club head, type of shaft, the flex of the shaft, length and of course where is the sweet spot. Also, using the golf driver effectively can be an issue for some players too. This is just a small sample of your questions, so if you have any further ones you would like answered in this area, please let me know below.

Ive been playing for two years, and go out on the course sometimes. On a par 4 or 5 hole, i get around 7.
With a golf driver, I can hit a little more that 100. And my balls fly pretty straight, and not slice.
Is that bad? Ive never tried out or played competitively, but i really want to do golf. Any tips or suggestions? READ MORE »

There are many places online, like Amazon, that you could find a golf set for your kid, whether he/she is left handed or right handed. US Kids Golf – you can find some nice sets for Junior’s at Golfsmith, visit your local on course golf shop, search the classifieds too to see what is available and how much they are worth.
